THE VIRTUES OF LEARNING THE QURAN
The first step in understanding and discussing the Qur’an is to learn how to read it. Learning to read the Qur’an used to be the first stage toward learning it. Children used to learn how to read by reading the Qur’an; those studying sciences used to enter their educational lives by memorizing verses from it. Education in the Qur’an was regarded as the door to knowledge and was therefore encouraged.
